Your participation and fundraising are incredibly meaningful to Home Horizon and the youth we serve in our community who are experiencing homelessness.. So, again, thank you!

2KM route turns around at Third Street and Hurontario (cross Hurontario at third and backtrack the same route)
5KM route turns around at Cameron Street (cross Hurontario at Cameron and back-track same route)

- 4:00 pm: Meet Check-in
- 4:45 pm: Muster Gather for Opening Remarks
- 5:00 pm: Move Send-off
- 6:00 pm: Munch Light meal served

As a reminder, here are your Toque Pick-Up details:
- Friday Feb 271th | 5pm - 7pm or
- Saturday Feb 22nd | 4pm *if you have not received already
Toque Pick-Up Location: Trinity United Church - 140 Maple Street -Maple Street Entrance
Please come to the front entrance. One of our Coldest Night of the Year Committee members will greet you at the door and provide you with your toques!
Route Details
- Route Distances: Check out the maps below to see where we will be walking.
- Rest stop: Keep an eye out for opportunities to rest and refresh with yummy snacks along the route.
- Signage: Routes will be well-signed with our bold blue CNOY signs.
- Route Support: Route marshals, rest stop hosts, and support vehicle drivers provide support along the route.
- Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
- No Pets: We love our little furballs like you do, but pets are not permitted at the Coldest Night of the Year except for approved and trained service animals. Read more about our pet policy >
Check-In
- All walkers participating at the Main Event on Saturday, February 28, 2026 must check-in upon arrival.
- Toques! Fundraising walkers who raise $150+ (or $75+ for those under 18) will receive a CNOY toque as a thank you on event day, while supplies last.
- Offsite fundraising walkers can contact their local event director to arrange toque pickup the week of the event.

Handling Money
- Credit Card: The Best Option! Simple, secure, automatically tax receipted for gifts of $20+. Visit the Donate page, share your personal page link, or have your donor call the CNOY Head Office.
- Cheques: The Old Faithful - made out to Coldest Night of the Year with your name on the Memo line. Mail them to CNOY Head Office along with your completed pledge form.
- Cash: You have 2 options:
- 1. Login to FundHub, click “Enter $$ and Cheques,” create pledges for your cash donations, pay them off with your personal credit card, and keep the cash. OR...
- 2. Write a cheque (made out to “Coldest Night of the Year”) for the total amount of cash you’ve collected. Mail it to the CNOY Head Office with your completed pledge sheet.
Waivers
All participants must register online and accept the electronic waiver.
- Adults accept the waiver automatically when they register online.
- Youth/Children under the age of majority need a waiver signed by their parent or guardian.
- An online form will be emailed to all parents/guardians before CNOY Day.
- You may also bring a filled-out printed waiver.
- Waivers will also be available at check-in on CNOY Day.
What to Bring
A few common sense suggestions:
- A cell phone for emergencies (recommended but not required)
- Good waterproof shoes/boots for walking
- Warm coat and mitts/gloves
- Extra snacks if you have allergies or food sensitivities
- Your own water bottle
- A passion for the charity you're walking and fundraising for!

About Home Horizon
Home Horizon is a charitable organization in Collingwood, Ontario, serving the South Georgian Bay communities.
Our mission: Home Horizon creates a community where youth who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness are supported and empowered with the resources and skills to transition into adulthood. As a community, we break the cycle of youth homelessness with hope, safety, and growth.
Home Horizon's Barbara Weider House (BWH) is helping guide youth from homelessness to hope. BWH is a 10-bedroom transitional home for youth aged 16-24 facing homelessnes in our community. BWH is bridging the critical gap between emergency shelter & independent living. At the BWH we take care of immediate needs and offer youth the chance to change the direction of their lives. In addition to providing a safe, stable and affordable housing, we provide health and life skills education, mentorship, mental health expertise and individualized support plans for local, at-risk youth that help them to set realistic goals and teach them skills that last a lifetime. The BWH is the only facility in our community dedicated to serving homeless youth.
Home Horizon’s Youth Outreach Program takes a specialized, client centered approach to Youth Homelessness. The program began in 2020, expanding our resources for homeless youth beyond The Barbara Weider House. The program assists youth wherever they are living, and is aimed at providing meals, hygiene products, tents, blankets, clothing, help to access community resources, mental health support and much more to homeless youth in our communities.
The YOUTH THRIVE program is a specially created program for youth at risk of, or who have experienced homelessness. Youth Thrive is a comprehensive program designed to provide integrated support for youth, focusing on their holistic well-being. By incorporating elements of mental health counselling, educational supports, physical wellness, life skills development, and socialization, diversity, equity and inclusion, the program aims to empower youth “where they are at” in their personal growth and foster a balanced and thriving lifestyle.
100% of money raised through the Coldest Night of the Year fundraising walk on Saturday, February 28th, 2026, will go towards this mission.
