About Western Ottawa CRC

The Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC) has been providing services that support health, safety and wellness in our communities in far west Ottawa since 1986. Our offerings encompass a broad range of programs to achieve our vision of healthy, inclusive, vibrant and resilient communities in Western Ottawa.

We provide programs and services for residents across their lifespan including:

• Parental Support: Assisting new parents in raising confident and resilient children through educational EarlyON programs and resources.

• Senior Engagement: Creating social opportunities for isolated seniors to foster community interaction and reduce loneliness.

• Counselling Services: Providing short-term individual counselling for adults, youth, and children to address a variety of personal and emotional challenges.

• Support for New Canadians: Offering vital information, resources, and referrals to help new Canadians integrate smoothly into the community.

• Senior Independence: Delivering services designed to help seniors live independently and remain in their homes for as long as possible including Meals on Wheels and Transportation programs.

• Support for Women and Dependents: Offering a safe haven and comprehensive support to women and their dependents who have experienced intimate partner violence through Chrysalis House and community-based counselling.

• Youth Empowerment: Providing adolescents and young adults with a place to learn new skills, connect with peers, and foster well-being.

• Community Development and Health Promotion: Engaging in community development and health promotion activities to support those in need, including individuals facing poverty, homelessness, isolation, social exclusion, and other barriers and challenges.

But we can’t do it alone.

On Saturday, February 28, 2026, join us for the Coldest Night of the Year walk—a chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who are hurt, hungry, and homeless. Your participation and donations will directly support programs that change lives in our community.

Together, let’s turn a cold winter night into a beacon of warmth, hope, and support for those who need it most.
