The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness... because it’s cold out there. Join us on February 28, 2026 - across the country, close to home!
Green Wood Coalition uses a community model of caring to walk alongside people living with poverty, mental and physical illness, drug dependency, and disability. As a radically inclusive, street-level organization, we engage through relational approaches, healing through art, supports for recovery, and community activation.
Through relational approaches we support people living with substance dependency through pathways to recovery such as the Redpath Addiction Recovery Program. And our WrapAround life planning program promotes agency and healing with trained facilitators.
We are committed to sharing, advocating and supporting a neighbour-to-neighbour approaches to community building.
By focusing on what’s strong, not what’s wrong, we can work towards positive change that leaves no one behind. We believe in finding hope together and that a healthy, vibrant community includes everyone.
Starting of Coldest Night of the Year - Port Hope will once again take place at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church. Please join us in the main auditorium for kick off!
