The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness... because it’s cold out there. Join us on February 28, 2026 - across the country, close to home!
The Richmond Food Bank Society is a non profit organization that provides healthy, nutritious food and related support to community members in need. For over 40 years, we’ve served as a bridge between abundance and need — redistributing surplus food, reducing waste, and ensuring that children, families, seniors, and newcomers have access to nourishment, dignity, and hope.
Each week over 3,500 individuals from approximately 1200 households access the grocery assistance program and related services.
Through partnerships with local grocers, farmers, and community groups, we offer grocery distributions, school meal programs, home delivery program, a garden program as well as outreach and referral services. Our work is grounded in compassion, inclusion, and the belief that food is a human right.
Every step walked and every dollar raised helps us ensure a community where no one goes hungry, especially in the coldest months of the year.
Parking near the event site is limited. We encourage carpooling, walking, cycling, or taking public transit if possible.
Free parking is available in designated spots at Lansdowne Centre. Head north on No. 3 Road past Lansdowne Rd, then make a right turn at the first intersection to enter the Lansdowne parking lot.
