Ve'ahavta addresses the longstanding societal problem of poverty while simultaneously mobilizing volunteers to act and make a difference. Our Mobile Jewish Response to Homelessness outreach van program provides immediate relief and referrals to people facing homelessness, poverty, and hardship. Each night, our two vans visit several locations in downtown Toronto and Scarborough to deliver essential supplies, including nutritious meals, clothing, hygiene kits, and harm reduction kits.
Coldest Night of the Year not only creates awareness about the challenges people affected by poverty and homelessness face – it is an opportunity to raise vital funds to help meet the growing demand for Ve’ahavta’s lifesaving and life-changing programs.
Note that we have different start and finish locations for this year's event.
Our walk will start at Beth Tzedec Congregation and finish just up the road at Holy Blossom Temple.
