About Open Arms Mission of Welland

At Open Arms Mission, we want to ensure that no one goes hungry in our community. At our new low barrier food bank, we will be providing groceries and snacks and other items to people in need in our community.

We are transforming our traditional food bank and drop in centre, to a place where people can:

1. Be free from anxiety over where their next meal will come from. No more being told to wait. If you need food today, come today.

2. Be free to choose what is best for their needs, instead of being told what they can have.

3. Have a dignified environment. Instead of being intimidated by unfamiliar processes, people can feel comfortable getting food in a beautiful, accessible grocery store

4. Feel free from shame. Instead of feeling like they are taking away from someone who "needs it more," by allowing people to donate, we are offering the opportunity to contribute.
